What is the Global Progressive Youth Forum

(((this page is under construction)))

The Global Progressive Youth Forum (GPYF) creates a space for progressive youth movements to reflect on the challenges of the future posed by globalisation. It also provides a network that will enable effective advocacy to put forward the visions and ideas of young people throughout the world. GPYF is a loose network, open to a diverse group of progressive youth movements and organisations including ECOSY, IUSY and IFM-SEI It works closely with the Global Progressive Forum and social NGO’s such as Solidar and Social Alert.

What is the ECOSY GPYF Network

In addition to the 3 standing ECOSY networks (Student, Feminist, Queer being the others) a 4th was added in the wake of ECOSY’s 8th Congress in Warsaw (April, 2007). The goal of this network is to bring together young activists from European Socialist and Social Democratic organisations to educate ourselves (and our parent organisations) on issues of ‘decent work’ and international solidarity; to organize concrete actions and to agitate for change. We try to be the change we wish to see in the world.

Any ECOSY activists interested in getting involved in the work of this network are urged to contact the ECOSY GPYF Network Coordinator, Victor Duggan. http://www.ecosy.org/?id=

The CAP

Michel Barnier, France's environment minister, said that Africa and Latin America should consider their own versions of the CAP.

I agree, the current food crisis proofs farm aid is essential.
I agree, but wonder where Africa and Latin America are going to find their own versions of the EU’s €40 billion CAP budget.
I disagree; protecting agriculture = killing people!
I disagree, Barnier only said that because France wants the keep the EU CAP as it is now.
